Just For Me Reads- September

Some books I dedicate entire posts to.  Those are usually ones that I have received from the authors for review purposes.  So what about the other books I read in September?  This is going to be the first of a new monthly post entitled Just For Me Reads.  Want an easy way to find it?  It will always have the above picture at the beginning of the post!

Just For Me Reads will have short reviews (similar to what I leave on Goodreads or Amazon) for the books that I read, just to read.  So what books will you find in this section? This section will include the books I read for the PopSugar challenge, books I read for my book club, and the books I read just because I thought they sounded good.

I feel that for those of you who take the time to read my blog to get the most out of it, then I need to provide you with reviews of everything I have read each month.  Some times just a couple sentences from someone who has already read a book can really help make or break a book.  The purpose of my blog is to share my thoughts on books I have read to help other readers find books they will love.

Pas de Duex by Jordan Bates
This is an amazing love story. Everyone should experience a love like this once in their life. When you know you know, don't be afraid to just go for it. That once in a lifetime love is what Lawson and Anya share. They take the risk, and jump in feet first such an amazingly beautiful love story.

You by Caroline Kepnes (audiobook)
This book was very twisted. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I did, I was hooked.  Joe is certainly one messed up man.

Silent Victim by Caroline Mitchell
Teenage years are difficult enough without a mom telling you you're fat. Eating disorders are so dangerous. Then as if those aren't enough add in falling victim to a predatory teacher. Emma amazingly survives all of these until her teacher comes back. So many who was really the victim, and who did what moments in this book. Great thriller. This was a buddy read for my book group.

Madapple by Christina Meldrum (audiobook)
This audiobook had a great narrator. I enjoyed the twisted tale about Aslaug. This book is very thought provoking and incredibly shocking. Just when you think you have something figured out it goes and changes it on you. I selected this book to fill a PopSugar Challenge prompt.

InterWorld by Neil Gaiman and Michael Reaves (audiobook)
This book wasn't my normal style. However, I could see how it would be a great fun read for middle grade and young adult. I loved that all off the characters at the InterWorld base were version of the same character from parallel dimensions.  I think it would probably something that would interest more boys than girls.  I read this book to fill a PopSugar Challenge prompt.

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
This book was a very creative story about mermaids. Galen is a syrena (merman), and a royal of the house of Triton.  Emma is a human, or so she believes.  Syrena are not supposed to interact with the humans.  Galen's job is to monitor the humans to make sure they aren't getting to close to finding out about the Syrena.  He has a few human friends that help him with this.  One of them tells him about a human who seems to be displaying syrena traits.  This is how Galen finds out about and ends up meeting Emma.  As the story progresses we learn a bit about the history of the syrena.  This is such a fun and addictive story. Great YA novel. Can't wait to read the next book.  I read this to fill a PopSugar Challenge prompt, and am so glad I did.

Reputation by Dr. Rebecca Sharp
This book was a very slow start for me. It was also a little more difficult for me to read. I kind of had to make myself read it. That being said, I loved Blake and Zach's love story. I cried happy tears, and sad tears. I did find this a very enjoyable book, I just had to work at reading it. I was not prepared for the fact that Blake was based on TS. So at first the TS references were very obvious and annoying. I am really glad I stuck it out and finished the book.  This was a buddy read for my book group.
