Quick Reads

Are you looking for a book that you will most likely just devour?  Here are some of my favorites that I just couldn't put down!

"All men have a weakness, and it's usually a woman."- Milo

This quote is the perfect way to describe this entire book. We got a small glimpse of Declan and Sydney in Come Back for Me. This book tells their story.
They were childhood sweethearts, soulmates. Then Declan tried to throw it all away to protect Sydney. He never planned to return to Sugarloaf when he left her. However, his father had other plans for his sons.
"A true second shot will split the first arrow and create a solid path."- Declan Arrowood
Another quote perfectly fitting this book. This book will take you through all of the emotions. With a strong woman trying to live her life to the best of her ability, and a stubborn man who tries to deny his heart's desire because he thinks he knows what is best.
Truly an amazing book. I loved the glimpse of Sean and Devney, and can not wait for their story.

This book leaves me with one question. Why don't more men read romance novels????
This is one of the best Rom Coms I have read in quite a while. I truly enjoyed this different take on romance. Gavin and Thea's marriage is in trouble. His friends and teammates invite him into their men only book club. This is not your ordinary book club. These men read romance novels, and consider them manuals.
I loved following these characters and they worked out their problems to try to save their marriage. It was truly genius how the men learned how to communicate with their women by reading romance novels. I wish my man would take a cue from this book, but that would require him actually reading.
This book is absolutely amazing. It will have you laughing often. Tearing up a little. Best of all though, it will leave you feeling content.

Have you met the Aldridge brother's yet? Each book is essentially a stand-alone, but book 1 (Loved You Once) introduces you to the brothers.
So this book is Henry's romance, in away it's his redemption. He learns to be human and follow his heart, instead of just doing what his grandfather has set before him. He learns that not everything in life is a business transaction.
"She unravels me. But the moment I touched her, I became undone."-Henry Aldridge.
Sophia is Henry's #1 assistant. She feels over looked, held back, and underappreciated in her job. She wants to hate her boss, but she is attracted to him. She wants to quit her job, but she would never find another one that compensates her the way her current one does. Henry forces her to move to Baker's Creek when his father's will requires it of him and his brothers. She develops a friendship with the other women in the Aldridge brother's lives. Sophia is a female character that women will love. She is strong, sassy, and is devoted to her family.
I love watching these brother's grow. I can not wait for the next book or the rest of the series for that matter.

Wicked Dreams is a decidedly different type of book from S. Massery. She, however, NAILED it!!!!!! This book is everything, I mean everything, you love and hate about high school.
Caleb and his friends (Theo, Liam, and Eli) rule Emery-Rose Elite School. They are the Kings of the Lacrosse team, and the students and faculty think they can do no wrong.
Margo is essentially the new girl to school. She may have attended elementary with some of these kids (a.k.a. Caleb), but 8 years in the foster care system have taken her many other places. With only 11 months left until she ages out of the system, Margo hopes to fly under the radar for her senior year. Caleb has other plans though.
Caleb and Margo have "a past"!!!! Her mom was his family's chef when she was little. That was before everything fell apart. In this book we catch glimpses of what happened that makes Caleb treat Margo the way he does.
The way Caleb bullies Margo, and is so possessive of her is in a strange way extremely hot. There is some crazy chemistry there.
This book will hook you from the very beginning. Be prepared for a crazy trip back to high school. Book 2 cannot get here soon enough!!!!!

I have been waiting for this book for months!!! It did not disappoint. I loved seeing Margo finally start pushing back. I admire her determination to figure out what she is missing. Caleb is changing as well. He doesn't seem so out to get her anymore. While he isn't super thrilled about her desire to know, he isn't standing in her way either.
The is so much happening in these books. The romance, the mystery, the suspense. These characters capture your heart. The story will get your heart rate up. You won't want to put it down.

"Wolves have teeth, and it's about time I grow into mine."
Wicked Promises is the most EPIC conclusion to Caleb and Margo's story!!!!!! There were so many unexpected twists in their story. I absolutely loved how twisted the whole plot ended up being. The identity of UNKOWN.....completely blew my mind. The secrets of their past were so much more than I anticipated. This book is intense, and romantic, and just perfect.
These characters will forever hold a place deep in my heart. The way Margo grew in these books is inspiring. Caleb being able to overcome what had been pretty much brainwashed into him to discover the truth and acknowledge his hearts true desire is impressive. The downright evil of some of the other characters (I can't ruin the surprise) is genius. I can't wait to read the upcoming books about the rest of Caleb's gang.
Also, I just want to throw out there that a book about the dad's in high school would be so awesome.

"It's you who brings me pain. It's you who is killing me. It's you, and us," I added, motioning between us. "It's this thing that never was, but always is, that never will be and will never not be." Jasmine, Make Me Hate You
This book is real. There is no better way to describe it. It is raw, honest, messy, painful, real life and love. It is everything.
Jasmine is a character that I think most every woman will be able to relate to in some way. She has known a lot of suffering in her life. Tyler, oh Tyler, I had a bit of a love hate relationship with him, but by the end he redeemed himself. Also, Morgan.....I will just say I wish I had a best friend like Morgan.
This book is a must read. It will give you all of the feels. You will laugh, and probably cry (both sad and happy tears). By the end it will leave you feeling satisfied. Talk about a book hangover. Kandi Steiner brought her A game on this one!

HOLY SH*T!!!! WOW!!!!
Sit down and hold on tight because Starlet is going to take you on a wild ride, full of ups and downs, twists and turns. This book had me on the edge of my seat, not wanting to put it down.
Anastasia has always been one of my favorite movies. Starlet is a modern day, mafia retelling of the story. It follows Dominic and Angel/Alexandra as Dominic gets Angel to "pose" as Alexandra 15 years after her disappearance and her family's murder.
These characters are so incredibly well written. There is so much depth to each of them. The memories trying to break free from Angel's mind. Every thing is so vivid. So real feeling.
There is so much I want to say about this book, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. This book is a must read, and quite possibly my favorite out of the entire Sinister Fairy Tales Collection

This book is absolutely amazing. The characters are so relatable. I quickly found myself comparing myself to Quinn. I could see so many similar qualities between us. Kinsley is that absolute sweetest, cutest 6 year old.
Then we come to Lachlan. Every woman needs and deserves a Lachlan in their life. The way he takes his time to prove to Quinn how beautiful she truly is and how much he cares for her. He is the absolute sweetest man.
This is an absolute must read for all women.

First I will warn you, THIS BOOK WILL BREAK YOU. That being said, it is a must read. Kate is the kind of person everyone needs to know and hopefully try to be. She is absolutely amazing. Each character in this book is incredible in their own way. There are few characters you can't help but hate, but I think any good book needs at least one of those. These characters crawled into my heart and will never leave. This will be one of those books that I read over an over again, even though I know it will break me. There were so many times I had to put it down and walk away. I was either so upset/mad at something that had just happened, or I didn't want to know what was going to happen. This is an absolute must read.
