Blurb:
My life was perfect . . .
Until fate took it all away.
Heartache and broken bones left me searching for solace in the darkest of places.
It wasn’t pretty, but with the support of my family, I persevered and I’m stronger for it. my daughters deserve nothing less.
Things were finally back on track, until I met Grant Ellison. Tall, dark, and handsome he sets my heart racing. If only the fear of loving again didn’t paralyze me.

Nobody was as surprised as me when I left a long military career for a slower pace in life. After all, I’ve never been one to make decisions lightly or without a plan.
A new town means a fresh start. Although it’s a lonely existence, I don’t regret my decision. Especially when a beautiful woman catches my eye.
Dakota Jennings’ strength and ambition are for all to see but her heat is protected by the strongest of walls. My new mission is to show her how precious she is and how great we can be together.

My Thoughts and Review:
Talk about swoon worthy!!!! This book is so sweet. Grant is a silver fox that has all the women looking. He, however, only has eyes for one woman, that would be Dakota. Dakota, is a widow, and single mom of two adorable little girls. She hasn't even considered dating since she lost her husband 5 years before.
I love the chemistry between these two characters. The way Grant doesn't push Dakota into a relationship, but lets things evolve naturally from friendship to more. He cares for her and her girls.
There are so many great supporting characters in this book as well. My favorite was probably Gene. He played such a small role, but had so much wisdom.
This book also has just the slightest bit of suspense or mystery to it. The "villain" was definitely not who I expected.
This is a book that will leave you feeling happy. It is an overall wonderful story with the perfect ending. I can't wait for the third and final book in this series.
