Just for Me Reads- December

Wow, I ended the year with a bang.  To be fair a couple of these were audiobooks and a couple were novellas.  I did end up finishing all 52 prompts on the 2018 PopSugar Reading Challenge and am excited to do the challenge again in 2019.  I had set a personal goal on Goodreads of 100 books for 2018, and exceeded that goal with an incredible 117 books.  For 2019 I have upped my Goodreads goal to 120, I am also participating in a few more challenges.

A Time for Everything by Brona Mills
What would you do if you could go back in time and visit your future spouse on his birthday for ten years before he meets you? What would you do if you fell in love with a time traveling visitor who is married I. Her reality?
This is an amazing tale involving time travel. What is too much influence? How will things change? Is this the way things were always supposed to happen? You will have to read it to find out.

by Oliver Dahl
Such a sad unfolding of events
Interest in the Salem witch trials influenced me to read this book. I found myself somewhat sympathizing with Ann. She originally made her choice in hopes of helping her friends. The abuse she ended up suffering at the hands of her own father was so upsetting.

Tedenbarr of Have Lath by Esther T Jones
If you are looking for an adventure this may just be the book for you. Young Tedenbarr, having spent most of his life as a slave, begins this novel as a slave on a ship. Until the ship is attacked by pirates. This is just the beginning of Tedenbarr's journey. He ends up surviving many adventures on his quest to return to his love.
This book is well written, with unique characters. I loved how when each character was speaking the written words gave each character a slightly different accent. It made it easy to hear each different character in my mind.
This story painted vivid scenes, with wild adventures. It is not quite what I would normally read, so it took me a bit to make my way through it, however, I am so glad I did.

The Strawberry Hearts Diner by Carolyn Brown
This was a wonderful story about life. In this story everything happens for a reason. I loved the way the author used the geographical language, and the narrator's use of accent. each character was unique and well developed.

Finding My Reason by Claudia Burgoa
This is a beautiful story about two people who both had difficult pasts falling in love with one another. They each have to learn to trust, grow, and most importantly move beyond their pasts to achieve happiness in their future. This book was a little slow for me at the beginning. However, once it hooked me it was amazing.

A Merry Christmas with Judy by K Webster
A sweet, and steamy novella perfect for Christmas. Learning to love again at the time when love was taken away. I absolutely loved the 60s lingo in the book.

Until I Fall by Claudia Burgoa
This is an amazingly heartwarming story about learning how to live and love again. Aspen lost her first love before they were able to get married as they had planned. She walled off her heart and threw herself into her work. She practically worked herself to death to avoid the pain of his loss. Until she meets Anderson. Meeting him, as well as a push from her friends encourages Aspen to live again.

'Tis the Season by Jordan Bates
Short, sweet, sexy, Christmas as it should be
Wow! This novella is amazing. There is so much I want to say about it but I hate doing spoilers. So what I'll say is this is a hot second chance whirlwind romance. Perfect for Christmas.

Joyride by Anna Banks

This is a well told, and well narrated book. An in depth look at what it can be like for families who have been divided due to immigration status. A sweet forbidden love story. Great for high school and junior high kids.

One Day by David Nicholls
I was not impressed with the story line in this book. I also didn't care for the narration of the audiobook.

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
This was a very intense and twisted story. The way the details unfolded made it difficult to predict. I didn't see the end coming. This book releases January 8th, be sure you check it out.  I loved it.
