Love Me While I'm Gone by Diana T. Scott

Love Me While I'm Gone is the second book in Diana T Scott's Half of Me series.  If you have already read the first book in the series, Our Demons, Best Friends, then you will already be familiar with some of the characters, the setting, and even some of the scenes in this book.  Which in my opinion made it even more incredible.  If you have not yet read book 1, don't worry about it.  You will have no problem following this story.  All of the books in this series are easily read alone, but much more fun if you read them all.

This is the story of Emily and Collin.  Emily is three years away from her medical residency, and kind of freaking out because she isn't sure how to find the right one for her.  Collin just recently moved to Chicago with his friends Sebastian and Kristen to begin their medical residency program.  Emily's sister, Lana, is also in her first year of the medical residency program with Collin, Sebastian, and Kristen.  Lana had been away for seven years, so to make up for lost time she and Emily have "sister dates" twice a week.  One sister date each week takes place at the hospital.  It's at one of these sister dates that Emily meets Collin.

Emily and Collin start "bumping" into each other when Emily starts arriving early for her sister dates with Lana.  Eventually they start talking on the phone and meeting up outside the hospital occasionally.  You could say they are dating, but neither of them had really made it official.  When Collin suddenly cancels one of these dates with little to no explanation, Emily is left to pick up the pieces and move on with her life.

Three years later Emily is excited to be starting her residency in the same hospital as her sister.  After her orientation she heads off to meet up with her sister for lunch.  But everything changes when the elevator doors open and HE is standing there.  Will Collin be able to make things up to Emily?  Can he have a good enough explanation for his behavior?  You'll have to read this book to find out.  You will not regret it.

I received an Advanced Review Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
